Volunteering is a great way to make friends while you make a difference in the Hanscom community! Whatever your time “budget,” there’s an opportunity for you!
Red Cross Blood Drive
The SC Red Cross Volunteers work together with the CGOC to provide donors from Hanscom AFB to the American Red Cross Bloodmobile. The Bloodmobile is scheduled to visit six times each year — usually the second Monday of every other month. We need volunteers every other month to work at the donor canteen, check donors in, and walk the donors from the cot to the recovery station. The hours are from 8:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. Volunteers are invited to come in and help at any time or the whole day if they would like to! Please plan on coming out to help at the next Blood Drive. It doesn't matter how long you've lived overseas, we need you to pass out … cookies, that is! Contact Barbara Mullins at redcross@hanscomsc.org for more information.
Summer Thrift Shop Work Days
Tuesdays & Thursdays from 10am-2pm. Assist with getting the Thrift Shop Ready for the Big Summer Clearance Sale . Save 50% off of all of your work day purchases if you assist with August 9th Sale. Contact Mary at thriftshop@hanscomsc.org
SC Thrift Shop Work Day
A specific workday will be announced, the Thrift Shop volunteers process donations, clean up Thrift Shop, check out incoming bargains, and make new friends. SC Thrift Shop Staffing
If you have a few hours to give during the week, we’d love to have your help running the SC Thrift Shop. Volunteers are needed to display and price merchandise, run the register, accept consignments and keep our shop tidy. The shop’s hours of operation are Thursdays and Fridays from 10 am to 2 pm, and the first Saturday of every month. Please note that the Thrift Shop will be CLOSED the month of July and part of August - please call first for re-opening date. SC Holiday Gift Wrapping
The HSC is seeking volunteers in December to staff the holiday gift wrapping table at the BX daily between the hours of 10 - 8. In addition to the BX, we will also be wrapping at additional locations . For more information, contact waysnmeans@hanscomsc.org.
SC Security Detail - Champions Tour PGA Golf Tournament
Volunteers are needed in June for security Detail for this PGA Pro Golf Tournament. We receive $40 for each volunteer we provide. You will receive a Shirt, Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner on your workday and you are entitled to attend the Tournament on subsequent days after you volunteer. There is also a party for volunteers on the evening of Saturday . Some Pro Golfers attend as well. Volunteers must commit to stay from 7am-7pm on their volunteer day. Further Details closer to June
